“Westminster Memory Care of Aiken” Brings First All-Memory-Care-Community to Aiken, South Carolina
Aiken, S.C. – Westminster Development announces the groundbreaking of Westminster Memory Care of Aiken in Aiken, S.C. Construction of the 48-unit, the luxury senior living community began this month, with scheduled completion in late Spring 2019.
Westminster Memory Care of Aiken will be the first memory-care-only community in Aiken and was designed specifically to serve seniors with memory loss through adult daycare and full-time resident programs, allowing seniors to live as independently as possible in a safe and caring environment. While full-time residents will live in the new community, Westminster will also have an adult daycare for seniors and persons with Alzheimer’s providing supervision and care in a structured setting during daytime hours. This program will allow primary caregivers of seniors and persons with memory care issues to work or take a break from their caregiving responsibilities.
“We saw the need for memory care in the Aiken, South Carolina area, and we are thrilled to bring the first-ever memory care community to this amazing city,” said James “Skip” Deupree, Developer at Westminster Memory Care.
Westminster Memory Care of Aiken was built and designed specifically for the needs of seniors diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory loss. The community will consist of a two-pod neighborhood with its own dining and activity space to help foster the feeling of home. Along with bird aviaries, virtual aquariums, the community will have the latest technology and services, including lights programmed to the circadian rhythm and natural skylights. The residents will also be able to enjoy scenic walking trails and courtyards throughout the community.
